Prepare for Election Season with the WOCC

comments | Read Comments

The Florida primaries are racing toward us and many are shifting their attention toward getting to know the candidates who will earn the right to represent our region in the coming years. On Thursday, August 2, the West Orange Chamber of Commerce presents its biennial Hob Nob and Straw Poll, presented by Orlando Health and hosted by Manheim Orlando. The event provides potential voters with one more opportunity to meet the candidates and learn more about their positions, allowing them to make an informed decision in the August 28 primary.

Now is the time for candidates to take advantage of this high-profile opportunity to share their message with voters. Reserve your candidate table by July 11 to save with our early-bird special. Do you live or work in West Orange County? This event provides the perfect opportunity to speak to the candidates and become more involved in the community. Save $10 by purchasing your tickets in advance, or take advantage of even greater savings with a corporate package of ten tickets. We hope you will join us for this meaningful, informative event.

You have probably seen the Chamber and our president, Stina D’Uva, in the news lately. The Chamber has made tremendous progress in its advocacy efforts for a “doggie dining” ordinance, the Voter Control of Gambling amendment, the Pine Hills Overlay ordinance and much more. Learn more about these efforts on our website.

The West Orange Chamber will continue to position itself to facilitate opportunities for each of our nearly 1,100 members. Whether advocating for pro-commerce issues, providing partnership and business-to-business opportunities or connecting those new to our area to local businesses, we will continue to work for a successful, prosperous business community.
