Spring has sprung here in West Orange, and with it comes a busy season of events and opportunity. We all enjoyed and contributed to another wildly successful Best Fest, “The Taste of West Orange,” hosted once again by the City of Ocoee. Starke Lake provided a magnificent backdrop for the evening’s festivities, and our members continued to raise the bar by providing a magnificent variety of delicious foods, drinks and desserts, not to mention the festively decorated booths. We would like to thank all of our sponsors, vendors, volunteers, and attendees; we could not put this event together without such an amazing community effort.
We would like to congratulate this year’s Best Fest winners. BEST Food went to Table Top Catering, Pilars Martini took home BEST Beverage, Nothing Bundt Cakes created the BEST Dessert, Observer Media Group put together the BEST Business Booth and Press’d Juice Bar & Kitchen won our newest category, Best Healthy Option. Congratulations go out to all of our participants as well for making our voters agonize over the many incredible options.
While our many business-building events may take the spotlight, a big part of “Facilitating Opportunity” happens behind the scenes through advocacy and economic development efforts. Recent area projects of interest to West Orange include the Sand Lake Road study in the Dr. Phillips area, the Downtown Ocoee capital investment program and the consistent growth in the Horizon West region.
This Thursday, join us for our Economic & Governmental Advocacy Committee meeting, featuring newly elected Orange County District 1 Commissioner Betsy VanderLey. Commissioner VanderLey will be providing an update on the recent news in her district, and what is on the horizon for the future.
We encourage you to take advantage of the many opportunties to build your business with the West Orange Chamber. To learn more about the latest news and events, visit wochamber.com.
