(Winter Garden, FL)— June 13, 2016…The West Orange Political Alliance (WOPA), a leading voice in seeking candidates who positively affect growth and economic development in West Orange County, announced support of incumbents in two races and other newcomers who have the understanding of what it will take to be effective local and state leaders.
The WOPA board endorsed Pam Gould for her re-election to the OCPS Board District 4 seat. Ms. Gould is a board member and award winner of the West Orange Chamber of Commerce, as well as a recipient of numerous community awards. “The board members of WOPA respect the work Ms. Gould has done on many important areas of education, including advancing multiple reliefs schools such as the West Orange Relief High School and programs that allow students to graduate with industry certifications and a high school diploma,” said Mark Griffith, WOPA Chairman. “Her understanding of the needs of the business community in regard to growth and workforce development are critical to the future economic development of our community,” stated Griffith.
In addition to this school board race, WOPA has endorsed candidates in Florida House of Representatives 44, 45 and Senate 15. Representative Eric Eisnaugle, a Windermere area resident and strong champion of our community, was endorsed once again by the board for FL House Rep. 44. Joining him for the first time for an endorsement in Senate District 15 is Peter Vivaldi, another Windermere area resident. Kamia Brown, a former legislative aide to several state representatives, also earned the board’s endorsement for FL House Rep. 45. Chairman Griffith states, “Each of these individuals earned the endorsements because they have demonstrated leadership and support of our community through their respective roles in their professions and community activities.” Additional endorsements in school board, state and county races will be forthcoming in the next month.
The West Orange Political Alliance, Inc. is a non-profit, non-partisan organization formed to provide an active political voice in the interests of West Orange County. WOPA is governed by a set of by-laws approved by Florida’s Division of Elections.
