In the aftermath of Hurricane Irma, it has been heartwarming to see the strength of the West Orange County community on full display. During this crisis, we have continued to see our Chamber organizations provide help wherever needed by offering supplies and services to those in need. Fundraising efforts are underway and our community has come together to get through this difficult time and come back stronger than ever!
Of course, it doesn’t take a disaster to bring out the best side of our Chamber members. We regularly see Chamber members take on charitable and philanthropic initiatives that deal with causes close to their hearts, or which make their community a better place. We generally believe that working toward these causes is good for our business as well, but the impact can be difficult to quantify.
On October 11, join us for our latest Business Before Hours event to enjoy a special panel discussion on “Doing Good is Good Business.” Our panel will be led by Mark Brewer, President/CEO of the Central Florida Foundation. He will lead a discussion on the value of philanthropic ventures, both for the community and for your business, featuring Chamber members Paul McNamara – Reed Nissan Clermont, Gary Shif – Best Cleaners and Belinda Wilson – Ms. Bee’s Popcorn and Candy Shoppe. Join us for a look at how these Chamber members are making the most of their charitable efforts, and how these ideas could apply to your business.
