2nd Annual “FOLA 40” Bike Ride around Lake Apopka

The 2nd annual Friends of Lake Apopka “FOLA 40” is scheduled for Sunday, November 11, 2018.  The annual bike ride around Lake Apopka intends to raise awareness about:

  1. The efforts to restore Lake Apopka
  2. Our two amazing trails (West Orange/South Lake & Lake Apopka Loop)
  3. The need to connect the two trails

There will be 4 distance options for the 2018 FOLA 40:

  • 8 mile ride will start at Magnolia Park, ride to the Pump House, and return to Magnolia Park
  • 16 mile ride will start at Magnolia Park, ride to the Loop Trail rest stop, and return to Magnolia Park
  • 32 mile ride will start at Magnolia Park, ride to the Green Mountain rest stop, and return to Magnolia Park
  • 40 mile ride will start at Winter Garden Pavilion, and  ride counter-clockwise around the lake, finishing at Crooked Can Brewing Company

All registered participants are invited to Crooked Can Brewery in Winter Garden at the end of their ride for a free beverage provided by Crooked Can

Lake Apopka Loop Trail is a gravel trail.   Hybrid, mountain, or cyclo-cross bikes are recommended. Road bikes with narrow tires are NOT recommended.


Cost:

The registration fee is $45.  All registrants get a “FOLA 40” t-shirt and a free beverage at Crooked Can.
