Explore Orlando’s West Side

Exploring West Orange County and the wonderful natural, ecological, historical, and agricultural assets in our own backyards has just been made easier by a partnership fostered by the Winter Garden Heritage Foundation (WGHF), the West Orange Chamber, Observer Media, Windermere, Oakland, Ocoee, Winter Garden and Orange County Government.  Maximizing their designation as a Visit Florida Certified Visitor Information Center, the WGHF brought us all together to create a tourism brochure called “Explore Orlando’s West Side – West Orange County”.

We all wanted one colorful, comprehensive brochure that showcased the places that staycationers and vacationers should visit to see the real Florida. Visitors to our west side will be amazed by the diversity of our attractions from historic buildings, to wildlife at a nature preserve, to museums showing the rich history of our communities, to our lakes, cycling and walking trails, and even an old train caboose.

These attractions will bring tourists and their dollars to our communities after they have visited Walt Disney World, SeaWorld, and Universal Orlando Resorts. We all benefit from the marketing campaigns of Visit Orlando and specifically, Visit Florida’s marketing campaign to have vacationers stay one extra day. One extra day brings millions of dollars to our region and state and we know West Orange County has the unique places to visit in that one extra day and appreciate the tourism dollars for our businesses and attractions.

This brochure will be available at the Florida Welcome Center at I-95 as motorists enter our state, local hotels, the Chamber, and municipal and WGHF offices.
