We are going Virtual – So let’s network!

In these current times of uncertainty and isolation due to COVID19; it is not only key to keep communication flowing, but also critical.

Therefore, since we can’t gather as an in-person group, the West Orange Chamber of Commerce is going virtual, for now, with our networking groups.

If you would like to join one of our virtual networking groups, please contact Tracy Solly our Director of Membership at tsolly@wochamber.com and we will check if your industry is currently available.  We are also considering the formation of a new "virtual" group to meet at another date and time if there is a need.

Once we have found a spot for your business, we will send out step-by-step instructions on how to join our Virtual Networking Groups.

So please join us and keep your business informed.

Our mission is to learn all about our members and their respective businesses to help 'Facilitate Opportunities' to increase their businesses through referrals.

In light of all that has happened in regard to COVID-19, the networking group meetings are going Virtual until further notice.

Rules of the Group

Policies and Procedures for Tuesday, Wednesday, Horizon West and Thursday Groups

  • To be a member of a West Orange Chamber Networking Group, all members must in good-standing and at the Enhanced level membership and above.
  • A member who misses three consecutive Networking Group meetings may be asked to leave the group whether or not there is a waiting list for that particular industry.
  • Non-Chamber member attendees may attend three meetings within a consecutive two-month period.  If they do not join the Chamber after attending three meetings, they will not be invited to attend future meetings.
  • Members may only belong to one weekly or bi-weekly Chamber networking group at a time.
  • If a Chamber member wants to join a networking group that a visiting non-Chamber member wants to join, the Chamber member will have the right to that spot. The non-Chamber member attendee will not be able to hold that spot nor attend future meetings in that networking group. This rule applies even if the non-Chamber member visitor has not yet attended the three allotted meetings within the consecutive two-month period.
  • Only Chamber members will be permitted to make presentations at a Networking Group function.
  • Only Chamber members may introduce themselves in Networking Group and are restricted to talking exclusively about their company or companies they represent.
  • Shout outs can be made to Chamber, non-group members.

 

Policies and Procedures for Lead and Feed

  • Members may participate in Lead and Feed and a weekly or bi-weekly networking group.
  • Three businesses from each industry may attend these monthly luncheons.
  • Non-chamber members may attend one luncheon before joining the chamber.
  • A Chamber team member will review the list of attendees prior to the luncheon and introduce the non-chamber members separately.
  • Only Chamber members will be permitted to make presentation at a Networking group function.
  • Leads may be given to non-chamber members at the luncheon.
  • Only Chamber members may introduce themselves and talk exclusively about their company or companies they represent.

 

West Orange Chamber Staff Support

  • Chamber staff will provide non-members & prospective members with Chamber investment and membership information.
  • Issues that arise in the networking groups, which are not quickly resolved to everyone’s satisfaction, will be turned over to the Chamber staff for resolution.

 

* An Emerging Level member may speak about the one-member business as part of this level of membership and within the designated industry provided to the Chamber. An Enhanced Level member may speak about their business in their second industry provided to the Chamber, as long as the second industry has been approved by the group administrator. (See additional guidelines below for speaking on a second industry).

An Elite Level member may speak about the two member\ businesses as part of this level of membership and within both of the designated industries (per business), provided by the Chamber, as long as the second industry has been approved by the group administrator.

Exclusive Level members may speak about up to four member businesses as part of this level of membership and within both designated industries (per business), provided by the Chamber, as long as the second industries have been approved by the group administrator.  The right to attend two different Networking Groups is only the right of the Elite or Exclusive level or Trustee level of membership as part of their additional membership(s) under different business names.

 

Additional Guidelines for Speaking on Second Industry

  • The member must seek approval from the group administrator and ask to speak on the second industry
  • The group administrator will verify that the industry is official, available and that the member is an Enhanced, Elite, Exclusive or a Trustee member
  • If the industry is available and an official industry, then the group administrator will update the website to reflect two industries
  • At that point, the member will be able to speak on both industries during their 30 second elevator speech
  • The member may also opt to rotate their industries from session to session, rather than speaking about both in one session
  • The same rules will apply in the member’s group presentation in regard to their ability to speak on two industries, but not at two presentations unless they are Elite, Exclusive or Trustee members since they have more than one membership

 

“The Tuesday, Wednesday and Horizon West groups allow for one business per industry or specific segments within each industry.  The Thursday group allows for two businesses per industry.  To find out if there is an opening for you or to be added to a waiting list, please contact the Group Administrator.”
