Jennifer Koren joined the Fleming’s team five years ago and worked at the Miami, Tampa and Charlotte restaurants. She assisted in opening the Metairie and Brickell restaurants before finding her permanent home in Orlando (8030 Via Dellagio Way, Building F Orlando, FL 32819) where she was most recently named Operating Partner.
Born and raised in Miami as a second generation native, Koren received her bachelor’s degree in psychology from The University of Central Florida. During school, she visited Israel three times before deciding to move to the beautiful country after college, where she lived just outside of Tel Aviv. While in Israel, Koren spent her time traveling throughout the country and trying all the cuisine she could. What she remembers most from her time in Israel is the Mediterranean Sea, which created fresh seafood and flavors that were inspiring and addicting. When she returned to the United States, she worked at a small Italian restaurant, and fell in love with hospitality. She decided to go back to school and received her master’s in hospitality and tourism management from Florida International University.
Currently, her favorite ingredients include Branzino, Israeli couscous, roasted tomatoes and Kalamata olives, which are all inspired by her Mediterranean past. She helps curate a menu for only her restaurant with Chef Hugh every six weeks which uses seasonal and unique ingredients.
While Orlando has an abundance of restaurant and a unique dining scene with varying styles and cuisines, Koren was drawn to Fleming’s because of the constant innovation and evolution of the dining experience that the brand strives to achieve. Fleming’s has been the cornerstone of her service industry career, offering an amazing platform to showcase her skills in hospitality, people and business management.
