As the business world continues to evolve, the West Orange Chamber is providing a wide variety of effective opportunities for members to learn, network and build their businesses. In the coming weeks, members can take part in several great events.
The WOCC’s popular Celebrating Extraordinary Women series debuted in 2016, and returns tomorrow, April 25, at ShowcaseWG (formerly the Bella Room). This event provides West Orange’s leading women the opportunity to share ideas and gain inspiration from other successful businesswomen, in a fun and casual environment. We are excited to welcome four of the area’s most accomplished women – Julie Kleffel of Seacoast Bank, Suneera Madhani of Fattmerchant, Stacey Papp of Bay Hill Jewelers and Orange County Clerk of Courts Tiffany Moore Russell. Guests will enjoy hearing about the experiences of each of our guest speakers in a round-robin style discussion, with plenty of time for cocktails and conversation.
Next Wednesday, May 2, Bruce I. Jones of Disney Institute will share an inside look into the magic of Disney at Lunch and Learn: Leadership Excellence Overview. Walt Disney’s goal of creating an experience in which customers are treated as Guests required development of a unique workplace culture to support this strategy. He focused on developing leaders capable of expanding on his vision while preserving core Disney values. Real-life stories, illustrations, and practical business insights from the diverse operations of Disney parks and resorts offer unique opportunities to help you transform the way you think about instilling leadership excellence in your business.
On Wednesday, May 23, join us for the Mayoral Update Luncheon at Tanner Hall in Winter Garden. In our rapidly growing community, the importance of local politics cannot be understated. Our local mayors of Oakland, Ocoee, Orange County, Windermere and Winter Garden will provide updates on their municipalities and what we can expect in the coming months.
While our many business-building events may take the spotlight, a big part of “Facilitating Opportunity” happens behind the scenes through advocacy and economic development efforts. Current and recent initiatives include the City of Ocoee’s Sunday alcohol sales ordinance, the Chamber’s support of an ordinance to allow “doggie dining” in Orange County and West Orange communities, support for the Voter Control of Gambling amendment and the Pine Hills Overlay Zone for the Neighborhood Improvement District. Keep up with all of the Chamber’s advocacy efforts by visiting wochamber.com and browsing the Current Initiatives page.
