Recently, more than 25 Universal Orlando volunteers took part in constructing a unique playground for Canine Companions for Independence (CCI). The playground was funded by the Universal Orlando Foundation and built to provide children with a fun activity while they are staying at CCI. This playground is developmentally appropriate, provides sensory stimulating activities and is wheelchair accessible.
"The benefits of all-inclusive playgrounds are far-reaching and the Universal Orlando Foundation is proud to fund this project”, said Valerie Read, Director of the UO Foundation.
Canine Companions for Independence is a non-profit organization that enhances the lives of people with disabilities by providing highly trained assistance dogs and ongoing support to ensure quality partnerships.
