While the truth of global warming and climate change issues are still controversial to some, one thing we can all agree on is that plastics pollution has become a world-wide issue. Some recent reports have found that as many as eight-million pieces of discarded plastics find their way to our oceans daily, and that plastic waste is responsible for 60-90% of all marine debris. While no one person can solve this issue, there are things each of us can do to help.
As a restaurant serving 100’s of guests every week one way we’re helping is by limiting our use of single-use, non-degradable, plastic straws. We are now offering an option for eco-friendly paper straws with all cocktails, water, tea, and soda orders. In addition, we now only provide traditional single-use plastic straws upon request. Reducing our reliance on single-use plastic straws might not seem like a big change or movement, but it does take a step in the right direction. Join us in our fight to make a better planet for our neighbors, family, and children.
