ORLANDO, Fla. (March 22, 2023) – GoPegasus, a leading local transportation and group travel company launched last year “Art on Wheels”, an innovative program to promote the region’s nonprofit arts and culture industry in a way that will “move” residents and global visitors – literally. GoPegasus converts its luxury coach buses into “moving canvases” showcasing the works of local artists and inspiring clients.

Today GoPegasus has joined forces once again with United Arts of Central Florida and the Orange County Office of Arts & Cultural Affairs to unveil the 7th installment of the “Art on Wheels” program in conjunction with Arts & Culture Advocacy Day, an annual mission trip to Tallahassee. Arts & Cultural Affairs, United Arts of Central Florida, and other arts advocates will take this fun bus today to attend Arts & Culture Advocacy Day in Tallahassee.

“It is critical for arts leaders to visit our elected leaders in our state capital. Making known the direct economic impact that the arts have on their local economy and our state’s economy, in addition to the impact on the lives of their constituents in schools, neighborhoods and small business, is a message that in a mass we can make loud and clear,” said Jennifer Evins, President & CEO of United Arts of Central Florida.

GoPegasus commissioned Katherine Larson of Vero Beach for this installation. Larson is a fine artist, muralist, graphic designer, children’s book illustrator, and classical singer. Larson was selected among other artists in the USA. In her work, the artist makes it feel as though you can walk right on to the bus and spend some time with these classical works!

GoPegasus Vice President Claudia Menezes added, “For almost 30 years, our transportation and travel planning company has cared passionately about the arts people. We developed ‘Art on Wheels’ as a natural extension of our company’s commitment to our community, clients, excellence and innovation. When the arts thrive, we all thrive.”

After a year for “Art on Wheels” GoPegasus will continue with the program and are in conversations with potential sponsors for the project moving forward. Artists can contact Claudia@gopegasus.com for more information.

According to a 2017 study by United Arts in the Central Florida seven-county region, conservatively $399.9 million dollars are generated annually by nonprofit arts and cultural organizations and their audiences in direct economic activity, and the industry supports more than 13,700 jobs and $39.9 million in culture-related revenue for state and local governments annually.
