Orlando, Fla., March 04, 2020 — CareerSource Central Florida (CSCF) has partnered with the Florida High Tech Corridor Council (The Corridor) for an annual Talent Forum that brings together high tech industry businesses and top-ranked Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) schools in the region for talent solutions that ignite potential. The event on March 16 and 17 at the Hyatt Regency Orlando will provide open discussion about local talent needs, recruiting and training strategies to increase STEM-related job opportunities in the 23-county Corridor region, home to residents across Florida’s Sun Coast to Space Coast. “We invite businesses in this unique opportunity to grow the high tech workforce in our region. In this collaboration with The Corridor, the Talent Forum will allow HR leaders to quickly connect and forge relationships with university career centers, whom all work directly with the most promising STEM students to help launch their career,” said CSCF Chief Operating Officer Mimi Coenen. “CareerSource Central Florida serves businesses throughout our region by developing talent solutions, analyzing workforce intelligence and providing occupational data that helps them secure talent.” Dubbed ‘reverse career fair,’ the forum places university career center professionals behind expo booths as employers or hiring businesses connect with them, build relationship and discuss potential recruitment partnership in order to find and hire the best talent. Through Talent Forum, businesses can expand their search by connecting with gatekeepers of campus recruiting from more than 50 institutions nationally recognized as top producers of STEM talent. The two-day event maximizes their time and investment by convening over 50 university career professionals from across the country to meet them in one place. The Corridor is driven by the mission to attract, retain and grow high tech industry and the workforce to support it. It envisions a 23-county Florida High Tech Corridor region with a high-wage, high-value economy that leads the nation and world in technology invention and innovation. It is chaired by presidents of the University of Central Florida (UCF), the University of South Florida (USF) and the University of Florida (UF). The Corridor helps partners understand their role in the broader scope of regional economic development, foster beneficial relationships to address community needs and celebrate partnership successes.
