OCOEE, FLORIDA, February 1, 2021: House Blend Cafe, located at 10730 W. Colonial Drive, celebrates its 15th anniversary this month. The cafe first opened its doors on February 1, 2006.

House Blend Cafe seeks to positively influence the community with more than just great coffee and delicious food. The cafe donates 100% of its net profit into community projects locally and globally.

Over House Blend Cafe’s 15 year presence in the community, the cafe has donated more than $20,000 to organizations that tackle some of our society’s biggest challenges like malnutrition, human trafficking and homelessness.

“My greatest joy has been getting to step into hard places around the world and help make a difference,” said Josh Taylor, House Blend Cafe’s general manager. “We’ve brought clean water to Ethiopia, set up sustainable farms in Honduras and Africa and we’re impacting hunger and malnutrition in our own backyard as well.”

In 2012, Taylor dug into community involvement further by starting a nonprofit sustainable farming venture, Do Good Farm, on his home property in Winter Garden. The farm produces chemical-free produce using permaculture and aquaponic farming methods.

Over the years, House Blend Cafe has persevered under challenging circumstances. Two years after their initial opening, they navigated through economic hardships due to the 2008 stock market crash. This past year, COVID-19 shutdowns made the cafe revamp and reinvent its offerings to ensure guest safety and keep the doors open.

“We’re looking forward to many more years—and it’s all thanks to an amazing group of loyal followers that continue to support us by grabbing a cup of coffee or having us cater their wedding,” Taylor said.
