The health and safety of our employees, Board Members, guests and other stakeholders is always our priority. Municipal Water District of Orange County (MWDOC) has been closely monitoring events and public health recommendations surrounding the outbreak and spread of the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) and want you to know the following:

First and foremost, your tap water is absolutely safe to drink. Tap water is actually more stringently regulated than bottled water. There is no need to purchase mass quantities of bottled water.

Secondly, to date, MWDOC does not have knowledge of any reported cases or those that have been in contact with anyone infected by COVID-19 within our workforce or within the family of Orange County Water Agencies. However, in light of the evolving situation and the Governor’s Executive Order:

MWDOC has cancelled the April 2nd Elected Officials Forum. Additionally, in collaboration with the Orange County Water District, we have cancelled the 2020 Orange County Water Summit, originally scheduled for May 29th.

MWDOC’s Committee and Board Meetings will accommodate social distancing of 6 feet per person and incorporate teleconference options. Additionally, the public can participate in MWDOC meetings on-line via Zoom.

To access upcoming Board and Committee meetings (including tomorrow’s Board meeting), please note the following:

               Phone Number:               (669) 900-9128

Meeting ID Number:        8828665300 (followed by #)

All MWDOC staff is encouraged to work from home when possible.

MWDOC has increased cleaning services throughout its facilities and installed additional hand sanitizers.

It goes without saying that this is unlike anything any of us have dealt with before. Obviously as the situation evolves, this could all change. As we face this unprecedented moment in our lifetimes, we must remember that we are in this together. What’s most important is that everyone stays safe and healthy. Take care of each other.

We appreciate your patience and understanding as we navigate this situation. We look forward to continuing to serve you.
