INTERNET SALES TAX

The West Orange Chamber supports CS/CS/SB 50. This legislation enacts the collection of online sales tax for businesses that are doing more than $100,000 in internet sales in Florida. This is not a new tax and the expanded collection of the tax would generate $479 million for the state and $132.9 million for local governments and can offset a projected $2.75 billion shortfall and will level the playing field between brick and mortar businesses located in Florida and those that are only conducting transactions online. On March 11^th, please vote yes for CS/CS/SB 50 and urge your House counterparts to take action on HB 15.

COVID-19 Liability Protections

The West Orange Chamber supports SB 72. Visit Florida – Tourism Marketing

The West Orange Chamber supports SB 778. This legislation reauthorizes VISIT FLORIDA and allows them to utilize carry-over funds from the previous year. Tourism is the significant economic driver in Central Florida and for that industry to be successful, we need visitors. Visit Florida is key in driving more tourists to our area. On March 10, please vote Yes for SB 778 to reauthorize Visit Florida.
