Each year, the West Orange Chamber of Commerce (WOCC) supports students in pursuing their educational goals by awarding scholarships through the West Orange Foundation, Inc. The Chamber has supported these opportunities for many years knowing how critical education is to furthering opportunities for students and increasing their social mobility, as well as advancing the economic development of the region.

This year, approximately 30 elementary, middle, and high school students from the West Orange community will receive the Students of Achievement and Renown (S.O.A.R.) awards, which recognize students who have outstanding academic achievements, show good citizenship, and are committed to their personal and educational growth. Additionally, 7 high school students are honored with the Danniel J. Petro and Duke Energy Scholarships to further their education at Orange Technical College, Valencia College, or the University of Central Florida. Through the generous donations from the Petro Family Foundation and Duke Energy, students are provided with an opportunity to continue their educational endeavors, many of whom are in great financial need.

The scholarship awards from the WOCC provide opportunities for future leaders in our community and further the mission of the West Orange Foundation to broaden community outreach through philanthropy, strengthening partnerships, and fostering positive growth. It is an honor to be involved in these partnerships that recognize our exceptionable students and the families who support them. We look forward to celebrating their accomplishments at the awards ceremony on May 8th at Olympia High School!
