In 2024, our nation commemorates the 38th anniversary of honoring the life and enduring legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., a prominent civil rights leader.

I invite you to join our Orange County Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Initiative as we participate in a unique MLK Day of Service event scheduled for Monday, January 15, 2024, beginning at 9 a.m. This event will take place at the Orange County Convention Center, in partnership with U.S. Hunger and the Orlando Mayor’s Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Commission. Our goal is to come together and package one million nutritious meals to support local families in Central Florida! Interested in becoming a shift volunteer? There are multiple 2-hour shifts available throughout the day.

The event encourages residents across the county to give back to their community through service. It was Dr. King who said, “Everybody can be great…because anybody can serve. You don’t have to have a college degree to serve. You don’t have to make your subject and verb agree to serve. You only need a heart full of grace. A soul generated by love.”
