WOCC celebrates the groundbreaking of the Boys & Girls Club of Central Florida’s June Family Branch

The West Orange Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors celebrated the groundbreaking of the Boys & Girls Club of Central Florida’s June Family Branch. Located at 459 9th St in Winter Garden, the June Family Branch of the Boys & Girls Club of Central Florida will utilize a 20,000-square-foot facility to serve up to 220 youth and teens daily. The June Family Branch, which will replace the club’s current West Orange facility, will increase service capacity by more than 400 percent. It will contain a dedicated teen center featuring arts lab, music studio, dance studio, technology lab and career lab. It will also feature a youth center with STEM/Robotics lab, health and science learning center, arts lab, game room and “zen den.” The June Family Branch is made possible through partnerships with the City of Winter Garden, Orange County, the June Family, Dr. Phillips foundation and other community supporters. West Orange Chamber of Commerce celebrates the groundbreaking of Horizon West Regional Park

The West Orange Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors along with Orange County Mayor Jerry L. Demings and Orange County District 1 Commissioner Nicole Wilson celebrated the groundbreaking of Horizon West Regional Park. Located at the intersection of Hamlin Groves Trail and Mann Road in the Horizon West part of Winter Garden, the 215-acre Horizon West Regional Park will host an inclusive playground, restrooms and an event pavilion. These, along with an access road, utilities and parking, are part of the $15.6 million Construction Phase 1A that begins with the groundbreaking. Phase 1B, currently under design, will include a splash pad, hook-ups for farmer’s market and kayak/canoe launch. Construction for Phase 1B, currently budgeted for $5 million, will start after Phase 1A is completed. The property was first opened to hiking and horseback riding in December 2010. This park is one of 110 parks, trails and facilities on nearly 15,000 acres maintained by the Orange County Parks and Recreation Division, which is celebrating 100 years in 2024. In 1924 Wilber and Rose Warren donated 8 acres of land to Orange County, for what became Warren Park on South Lake Conway. West Orange Chamber of Commerce celebrates the groundbreaking of the new campus of Orange Technical College – West Campus

The West Orange Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors celebrated the groundbreaking of the new campus of Orange Technical College – West Campus. Located at 2010 Ocoee Apopka Road in Ocoee, the new 115,604-square-foot facility will be the future home for their students focusing on career training programs such as building construction technology, HVAC, electricity, cosmetology and more. This campus will also help students in becoming an apprentice, earning their GED, learning English, and expanding their industry-based skills. It also provides dual-enrollment opportunities for students at nearby Ocoee High School. The new OTC-West Campus is slated to open in the fall of 2024. Foundation Academy – Tilden Road’s new Arts and Academics Classroom Building

The West Orange Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors celebrated a new Arts and Academics classroom building at Foundation Academy’s Tilden Road Campus. Located at 15304 Tilden Road in Winter Garden, Foundation Academy will house Band, Art and Science classes in this new structure.
