The West Orange Chamber is more than just events. We are always focused on being your Voice regarding business issues and regulations.  This year is no different. The West Orange Chamber Board of directors voted unanimously to adopt the 2022 Legislative Position Paper.   To read all of the paper, please click here.

Two of the Chamber’s top priorities were readied for Floor hearings last week. Both VISIT FLORIDA reauthorization bills, HB 489 and SB 434, received their final hearings and passed with overwhelming bipartisan support. The House bill would extend VISIT FLORIDA, the state’s tourism marketing arm, through October 1, 2028 while the Senate companion would extend the organization through 2031. Additionally, the House Judiciary Committee passed a necessary extension of COVID-19 liability protections for healthcare providers, HB 7021, readying it for the House floor as soon as next week. Without an extension, the healthcare COVID-19 liability protections passed at the Chamber’s urging during the 2021 legislative session will expire in March. The first substantive bill the Senate passed earlier this session was the COVID-19 liability protections bill for healthcare providers.
