SHEPHERD’S HOPE HOSTS COVID-19 VACCINATION EVENT FOR UNDERSERVED MEMBERS OF THE COMMUNITY AT WINTER GARDEN LOCATION ON MONDAY, APRIL 5, 2021
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE| March 29, 2021 (Winter Garden, FL) – The final event of a six-series vaccination clinic focusing on vaccinating those in underserved parts of the greater Orlando area, will be hosted on April 5, 2021 at Shepherd’s Hope located at 455 9th St., Winter Garden.
The vaccination effort is in partnership with Senator Randolph Bracy (District 11), Change for the Community, Inc., and the Florida Department of Emergency Management for the State of Florida Vaccination Program. The pandemic has affected underserved members of the community and the clinics will provide necessary outreach. “There is a need in the community to provide access to this lifesaving vaccine.” Said Pam Gould, President and CEO of Shepherd’s Hope. “Shepherd’s Hope is honored to team up with Senator Bracy to offer vaccines for many underserved neighbors that have not been able to access other locations.”
On the day of the event, medical personnel such as registered nurses, nursing assistants and check-in personnel will be on hand assisting in the distribution of 200 free Pfizer COVID-19 vaccines. Individuals receiving their vaccinations will be socially distanced before and after their vaccination. There is also a convenient drive-thru option.
Prioritization of vaccinations will be in accordance with Florida Governor Ron DeSantis and Department of Health Guidelines. Seniors are prioritized first to ensure our most vulnerable citizens have access to the vaccine first, but has expanded to include:
- Persons 18 years of age and older,
- Persons determined to be extremely vulnerable by a physician,
- Health care workers with direct patient contact,
- Law enforcement and firefighters 50 years of age and older,
- Teachers of grades K–12, and
- Residents and staff of long-term care facilities.
