Sr 429/New Independence Parkway Interchange Improvements Completed

In case you hadn’t seen it, the new traffic signals on New Independence Parkway at SR 429 are now fully operational. The lights will safely direct traffic entering and exiting SR 429 in Winter Garden. The project was completed in partnership between the Central Florida Expressway Authority and Orange County.  The project widened the southbound exit ramp to New Independence Parkway and added traffic lights, pedestrian signals and street lighting on New Independence Parkway over SR 429.

The installation of traffic signals was part of a $2.3 million project that began in January 2020, As part of the project, crews also widened the southbound SR 429 exit ramp to New Independence Parkway to improve traffic flow in this rapidly growing area of Orange County.
