Orange County Vision 2050 Southwest Market Area

In October 2020, Orange County formally kicked off Vision 2050 – a new comprehensive plan for smart, thriving, and healthy growth in our region that guides how and where growth occurs.

The 1st of three (3) virtual Town Hall Meeting Series was completed in January 2021 and provided an overview of the countywide Vision 2050 framework. It also described the tools used to reflect the unique
characteristics and diversity of each of the County’s Market Areas.

During the 2nd virtual Town Hall Meeting Series listed below, a new approach to land use management using “Planning Sectors” and “Place Types” will be featured, including their role in the Vision 2050 strategy for
guiding growth within Orange County. More specifically this series will demonstrate how Planning Sectors are used to identify areas that should be
developed, redeveloped, or remain unchanged, and how Place Types will be used to reflect appropriate residential densities, non-residential intensities, and development patterns within various Centers, Corridors and Neighborhoods. Examples of how Place Types might work, using areas or sites within the associated Market Area, will also be provided.
